Fulcher Hagler Welcomes New Associates
Before leaving Augusta to attend to their respective educations in Athens, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina, Bobby Thomas and Steve Sanders called Augusta home for years. So after graduating from law school in the spring of 2011—Bobby from the University of Georgia School of Law and Steve from the University of South Carolina School of Law—they both were excited for the opportunity to return to Augusta to begin their legal careers with Fulcher Hagler LLP this fall.
Bobby, a hometown product, and Steve, a native of the Athens area, joined the firm in September as associates. They both clerked for the firm in the summer of 2010.

Bobby graduated third in his class from Westside High, where he was the captain of the soccer team, before attending the University of Georgia for his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. He has worked for the Richmond County Solicitor’s Office and for the Honorable Susan D. Barrett.
“I grew up in Augusta, so joining the Fulcher firm was an ideal opportunity—something I had thought about for a long time,” Bobby said. “It’s good to be back, and I am looking forward to serving my hometown community.”
Steve graduated fifth in his class from Madison County High in Danielsville, Georgia, where he was the captain of the football team, before also attending the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree. After college, he worked for several years as a sports writer in the newspaper industry, including a year at the Aiken Standard and two at the Augusta Chronicle, before going back to law school.
“I loved Augusta and the downtown area in particular when I lived here before law school; the community really grew on me,” Steve said. “After working at the firm last summer and getting to know the other attorneys and staff, I knew there was no place I’d rather work.”
Bobby enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, playing soccer, and watching college football. He is a member of Church of the Good Shepard. His favorite restaurant is Rhinehart’s.
Steve married his wife Anna, from Rock Hill, South Carolina, in 2008. Their first date was at Luigi’s. Steve enjoys golf, reading the newspaper, following local high school and UGA sports, GreenJackets baseball, and walking their dog, Molly. They are members of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.
