Tomorrow morning, bells will ring at all Richmond County Schools. A bittersweet sound, signalling that summer break is officially over, and classes are back in session.
While parents scramble to get last minute school supplies, there are still many students in need of school supplies, and without the means to purchase them.
In an effort to make sure no child goes to school with an empty backpack, the attorneys and staff at Fulcher Hagler LLP participated in Augusta’s 2nd Annual “Pack a Backpack” School Supply Drive, sponsored by the Mayor’s office, Leadership Augusta, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and IHeartMedia.
From July 5th – August 2nd, school supplies were collected at several locations across Augusta. The donations will be presented to Richmond County School System’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pringle, on Friday, August 5th, at the O’Neal Insurance Agency, located at 3238 Peach Orchard Road.
The firm held a “Jean Friday” for the cause, asking attorneys and staff to contribute 5 school supply items or $5 in order to wear jeans to work. The service project was a success, raising over $50 and 200+ items to donate.
We hope all students have a great first day back at school, and we look forward to participating again next year!
