Daniel Welsh

Of Counsel

downtown Augusta, GA

Daniel brings extensive litigation experience, skilled writing ability, strength in assessing the value of a cause of action, proven negotiating skills, and ability to interface across multiple disciplines in such a way that provides value and guidance that aids clients in achieving positive outcomes.

Daniel is a proven litigator locally as an Assistant District Attorney in the Columbia County Judicial Circuit, where he achieved numerous jury convictions on cases ranging from DUI’s, to murder, to child molestation—even in the face of a coerced recantation. His team at the Columbia County District Attorney’s office eliminated backlog and achieved the lowest active case count in the Circuit. Additionally, Daniel was the sole attorney assigned to oversee all Magistrate Court matters and under his leadership fines, assessed and collected, tripled compared to the previous two years under contracted private attorneys.

Previously, Daniel prosecuted cases in Augusta County, Virginia, and the City of Staunton, Virgina, where he honed his skills at working across multiple disciplines with multiple agencies to present complex issues in a simple and persuasive manner. While in Virginia, he secured felony convictions for a woman who defrauded a local government of more than $100,000.00. He also served as a public defender in Staunton as well as clerking for three judges in the 25th Judicial Circuit of Virginia.

Daniel is a Columbia County native. He resides in Evans with his wife, Taylor, and three girls. He enjoys serving his church Redeemer Presbyterian as an Elder, playing pickup soccer, and investing in his neighbors and community.
